Victor von Doom, aka Dr. Doom, is the true archenemy of the Fantastic Four and is one of the most recognizable villains in the Marvel universe. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Fantastic Four #5. A fellow student and intellectual peer of Reed Richards, von Doom's face is severely disfigured in an experiment gone wrong. Doom forges a suit of armor and a mask that only he can remove and sets out to menace those he feels are responsible for his accident, including Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four.
